Jungles are the richest places on Earth

雨林是地球上自然资源最丰富的地区

because of one remarkable fact... they make their own weather.

个中原因令人惊奇，雨林能够自己制造天气。

Every day, water rises from the surface of the leaves as vapour.

每天水分都会从叶表蒸发，变成水蒸气。

It's as if the trees breathe out clouds.

如同树木在呼出云。

They gather over the forest until, finally... they burst.

水汽逐渐集结在森林上空，直到...汇成倾盆大雨。

Rain is the lifeblood of every jungle.

雨是雨林的命脉。

And all have to do their best to endure the daily downpour.

动物们每天都要经受暴雨的考验。

In some jungles, like here in Brazil, it rains so much that,

for part of the year, the trees are almost totally submerged.

The forest floor is 30 feet below the water's surface.

This is a mysterious world, a place few people have ever explored.

We have much to discover about the animals for which this is home...
