Better late than never.

迟到总比不到好。

A: I'm sorry I am late. I got lost.

我很抱歉我迟到了，我迷路了。

B: That's ok. It can happen to anyone.

A: Well, if I had stopped to ask for directions, I would have been on time.

B: Better late than never. Come in.

A: By the way, did you hear about Lucy?

B: Yes. She is in the hospital. If she had listened to a doctor, she wouldn't have had that serious heart attack.
