Anna: Maybe you should just stop texting.

Mary: But it's not just texting, it's e-mail. It's voicemail. It's snail mail.

Anna: That's regular mail.

Mary: Whatever. None of it's working. I had this guy leave me a voicemail at work, so I called him at home. And then he e-mailed me to my BlackBerry, and so I texted to his cell. Then he e-mailed me to my home account and the whole thing just got out of control. And I miss the days where you had one phone number and one answering machine. And that one answering machine housed one cassette tape... and that one cassette tape either had a message from the guy or it didn't. And now you have to go around checking all these different portals... just to get rejected by seven different technologies. It's exhausting.

Anna: What about that MySpace guy?

Mary: Jude. I like him.

Anna: Good.

Mary: Yeah, I felt like we connected.

Anna: Great.

安娜：那你就别再发短信了。

玛丽：我不仅讨厌短信，还讨厌电子邮件，语音留言，慢邮。

安娜：都是正常的通讯方式。

玛丽：总之，这些都没用。曾有个家伙在我公司电话上留言，我回家打给他。接着他给我发了手机邮件，所以我又回了短信。接着他往我家里发电子邮件，一切都失控了。我好怀念只有一个电话号码，一部电话应答机的日子。电话应答机只能放一盒录音带...... 录音带里要么有，要么没有男人的口信。而现在必须查看所有的通讯方式...... 还常常操作不成功。太累了。

安娜：那个上MySpace的家伙呢？

玛丽：朱迪，我喜欢他。

安娜：好啊。

玛丽：我感觉我们心有灵犀。

安娜：不错啊。
