Lesson 17 Just a Fender-Bender

第17课 只是个小事故

Cindy: Oh my gosh! What just happened?

辛迪：天哪！刚才发生了什么？

John: The car behind just rear-ended us!

约翰：后面那辆车追尾了我们！

Cindy: Well, how on earth did that happen? You're usually such a great driver. Weren't you watching out for him?

辛迪：那到底是怎么回事？你通常是个很棒的司机。你没注意他吗？

John: Of course, I was! But the other car ran the red light and slammed right into the back of our car. You honestly can't put all the blame on me!

约翰：当然，我是！但另一辆车闯红灯，撞到了我们车的后部。你真的不能把所有的责任都推到我身上！

Cindy: That's just great! Now, how in the world are we going to get to the party?

辛迪：太好了！现在，我们到底该怎么去参加聚会呢？

John: I think we should thank our lucky stars that it was just a fender-bender. Now I need to make a statement to the police and my insurance company.

约翰：我想我们应该感谢我们的幸运星，那只是个小事故。现在我需要向警方和我的保险公司陈述。

Cindy: Just a fender-bender?? can't move my neck! Do you think I might have whiplash? I'm not sure what we should do.

辛迪：只是一次小车祸？？我的脖子动不了！你觉得我会扭伤吗？我不确定我们该怎么办。

John: First things first. Let's call 911, and we'll have the paramedics take you to the hospital and have you examined.

约翰：当务之急。我们打911，让医护人员带你去医院检查。

Cindy: Yeah, you're right. Too bad about missing the party, though.

辛迪：是的，你说得对。不过，错过派对太遗憾了。

John: Never mind the party. When I'm sure you're in good hands, I'll deal with the police report and the insurance.
