1. Osama bin Laden's former driver has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison. Salim Hamdan was found guilty yesterday of aiding terrorism but was cleared on conspiracy charges. He'll be eligible for release in six months.

 2. China is telling President Bush to stop meddling in its business.The admonition was prompted by Bush's rebuke of how China stifles free speech and religion. A Foreign Ministry spokesman says Beijing opposes any words or acts that interfere in other countries' internal affairs.

 3. Iraqi officials say the US is near an agreement on pulling all American combat troops out by October of 2010. Some Iraqi leaders are anxious for the US to leave, but officials say the agreement would allow for some soldiers to stay until 2013.

 4. Olympic fever is spreading in Asia. A Japanese bakery has cooked up this creation, showcasing pandas and the Olympic rings just ahead of Friday's opening ceremony.
