I. The FAA says it’s investigating four US airlines for failing to comply with federation aviation regulations. The agency has not named the airlines but says an audit shows three of the carriers missed inspection deadlines while the forth failed to submit required maintenance plan.

II. Prosecutors are evaluating the mental health of an army veteran and a Jamaican national, arrested at an Orlando airport, after allegedly trying to check luggage containing bomb-making material. In court Wednesday a judge ordered Kelvin Brown held without bail.

III. A man accused of slashing a psychiatrist to death with a meat cleaver has told the police in a written statement he didn’t mean to hurt anyone. David Tarloff says he’s been in mental hospitals more than 20 times and has been sexually abused as a child. Tarloff pleaded not guilty to murder charges.

IV. Employees at a science museum in Fort Worth, Texas says after spending six months on land Bob the turtle is back. The 2-foot snapping turtle was supposed to be moved with other turtles last fall while the museum underwent renovations but disappeared until construction finally drove him out into the open.
