1. Actor Paul Newman has died at the age of 83. His publicist says he died yesterday at his farmhouse near Westport, Connecticut after a long battle with cancer. Newman was a ten-time Oscar nominee, winning once for the "Color of Money" in 1987.

2. Congressional leaders say they hope to reach an agreement on a multi-billion-dollar bailout plan before the markets open Monday. Meanwhile, President Bush says he's confident lawmakers will approve a rescue plan soon. The bailout is intended to rescue bankers from bad loans that threaten to derail the economy.

3. Americans had a mixed reaction to Friday's first debate between presidential candidates John McCain and Barack Obama. A pair of one-night polls gave Obama a clear edge over McCain. With 38 days left until the November election, McCain headed for Washington and Obama attended a rally in North Carolina.

4. And the Chinese celebrated their nation's first spacewalk. It's an opening step for China's plan to assemble a space station. China is only the third country after Russia and the United States to launch a man into space.
