1. The Dow was ending the week on a rather sour note. Traders push the index down more than 300 points today as investors appear to be betting on a long and deep recession. Stocks overseas were also down sharply.

2. Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin is talking about her role in the Trooper-gate scandal. She's testifying under oath in the investigation examining her firing of Alaska’s public safety commissioner. He claims he was let go because he refused to dismiss a state trooper who had divorced Palin's sister.

3. Troops overseas are letting their voices be heard in the upcoming election. Military officials say they foresee 50,000 ballots for troops to cast in the presidential election. However, it can take weeks for troops to get their ballots and just as long for them to be returned.

4. The World Series is heading north to Phillies in the Rays after the day off today as they travel from Tampa to Philadelphia. The Rays won last night's game to even the best-of-seven series at a game apiece.
