1.The Illinois House impeaches Governor Rod Blagojevich. Now it's up to the Senate to decide if he should be removed from office. He's accused of trying to sell a U.S. Senate seat. Blagojevich says the decision to impeach was not a surprise.

2.President-elect Barack Obama says his choices for his intelligence team are strong managers with integrity and experience. He is appointing retired Admiral Dennis Blair as National Intelligence director and former Congressman Leon Panetta to head the CIA.

3.Despite U.N. calls for a ceasefire, there has been no halt in Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza. Hamas militants continue to fire rockets into Israel. Officials put the death toll pass 777 in the two-week-old conflict.

4.Charles Barkley is taking a leave of absence from the broadcast booth. The announcement by Turner Sports comes after police say the NBA star was legally drunk when they arrested him in December in Arizona.
