I am Asieh Namdar at the CNN. com newsroom in Atlanta. Here is a look at what's happening NOW IN THE NEWS.

"Two days to victory", those are words from Senator John McCain on this Sunday. The Republican candidate is touting his ticket with VP pick Governor Sarah Palin. The statements come as the McCain's camp plows through Pennsylvania looking to make inroads in the crucial battleground state. Senator Barack Obama has several events in that battleground state of Ohio. He's looking to strengthen a national lead that has been tightening recently. Ohio is a critical state for both campaigns.

And a new political tool by the Republican National Committee, a "robocall" targeting Barack Obama features Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton. The sound byte taken during a Democratic primary race includes a clip from Clinton's saying. She thinks Senator John McCain is more experienced to be president than Senator Obama. CNN political editor Mark Preston says the ad has been used in battleground states like Ohio, Pennsylvania and possibly Indiana. They are all states Clinton won in the primary season.

The Obama campaign is also throwing political punches in a new ad released today. Obama tries to tie his political rival with the current administration. The ad features an endorsement of McCain by Vice President Dick Cheney. Just yesterday, the vice president was in his home state of Wyoming when he made his endorsement.

And something new for the city of Bakersfield in California, city officials are replacing cement sidewalks with rubber. The goal of course is to help save trees. The rubber path can be adjusted around growing roots that destroyed the cement sidewalk.

And a major win in Formula 1 racing, 23-years-old Luis Hamilton is the newest and youngest Formula 1 world champion. He nearly lost a title after a sudden downpour forced him off the track to switch tires. Louis only needed the fifth place finish in today's Brazilian Grand Prix to win him the title. He got it and the 23-year-old Brit is the new champion.

And those are the headlines this hour, for more on these stories and other news of the day, CNN is your source online, on TV, or when you are on the go.
