1.The crew of the Maersk Alabama says the number of pirates off the coast of Somalia is rising to crisis proportions. Sunday the crew’s captain Richard Philips was rescued by Navy Seals. Three pirates were killed during the rescue, a fourth is now in custody.

2.The head of Thailand’s armed forces says order will be restored in Bangkok despite escalated violence by anti-government protestors. The general said all means will be used to end the protest. At least 74 people have been injured in the violence.

3.The price for a gallon of gas is up a dime in the past three weeks. The new price nationwide was $2.05 a gallon. The cheapest for a gallon was in New Jersey, the most expensive in Alaska.

4.The annual White House Easter Egg Roll will be held today, hosted by President Barack Obama and his family. Some 30,000 kids and their parents are expected to jam the South Lawn. The Easter Egg Roll is a 131-year-old tradition.
