All the passengers have been released but six crew members were still aboard. The gunman is described as "mentally challenged” and was demanding to be flown to Cuba.

2.It was ten years ago today that two students killed a teacher and twelve of their classmates at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. A private memorial service for the victims is planned for tonight on the school's campus.

3.The US and Israel are leading a boycott of a UN conference on racism that opens today in Switzerland. The countries are concerned that the Muslim nations will dominate the conference with calls to denounce Israel and for a global ban on criticizing Islam.

4.It's Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel. In Jerusalem, two Auschwitz survivors have come together to talk about their experiences 65 years after they first met as teenagers in the death camp.
