3. Former President George W. Bush is expressing his sorrow after hearing a former congressman Jack Kemp's death from cancer at the age of 73. The former pro quarterback turned fame on the gridiron into a career in national politics and a crusade for lower taxes. Kemp ran as Bob Dole's running-mate in the 1996 presidential election.

4. President and Mrs. Obama enjoyed a rare night out Saturday. The first couple dined at a posh restaurant in Washington's Georgetown neighborhood. After dinner, they took a stroll on the White House South Lawn.
