1.Wall Street investor Bernard Madoff has been sentenced to 150 years in prison for his multibillion-dollar fraud scheme. The victims who lost millions of dollars urged a stiff sentence. The 71-year-old financier says he will live with pain and torment for the rest of his life.

2.A group of white firefighters won their reverse discrimination case against New Haven, Connecticut. The Supreme Court says they were unfairly denied promotions because of their race. The city said it was only trying to avoid a lawsuit for minorities.

3.Michael Jackson's mother has been given temporary guardianship of the singer's three children. Court documents say she doesn't know where to find the mother of Jackson's two oldest children. She and the children are maintaining a low profile at the Jackson family home in California.

4.The Honduran army ousted the country's democratically elected president and Congress named a successor.  Latin-America's leaders are holding emergency talks in Nicaragua, hoping to restore Manuel Zelaya to power.
