Good morning from the CNN Centre here in Atlanta, I’m Melissa Long with a look some of the stories that happening NOW IN THE NEWS.

Hurricane Bill, a Category 3 storm is starting this weekend. You will be able to feel some of the effects in the eastern coast. The National Hurricane Centre is warning people from Florida all the way to Maine of extremely dangerous surf and life threatening rip currents.

Even though all the votes have yet to be counted in Afghanistan, the top challengers in presidential race both see victory. Campaign teams for President Hamid Karzai and his chief opponent Abdullah Abdullah positioned themselves as winners. But there could be a runoff. Election officials say the preliminary results won’t be made public before Tuesday.

A week of deadly bombings continues in Baghdad. At least two people were killed in one market bombing today. Residents upset the relaxed security said the site has repeatedly hit in recently months. A series of attacks on Wednesday killed at least one hundred people and wounded more than five hundred. Last night, five bombings struck Baghdad streets in just an hour.

If you are thinking about taking advantage of Cash for Clunkers Program and you’ve put it off, you’d better to jump on it right now. The program ends Monday night. You know, while you turn in the old gas guzzler,  you get a rebate on a new vehicle. The White House says it’s a success with four hundred and fifty-five thousands sales in counting. Dealers say it hasn’t been profitable for them yet.

Attorneys for Casey Anthony are back in the courtroom this morning in Orlando. She is the Florida woman who is accused of killing her two year-old daughter Caylee. The defense wants to force the head of a search and rescue group to testify at a trial. They are hoping to use the testimony to show Anthony could not have disposed of Caylee’s body because she was already in jail. The defense also wants Anthony’s bondsmen barred from testifying about what she told them about the case.
