1. The top NATO commander in Afghanistan is confirming that some Afghan civilians were among the casualties of a US fighter air attack. As many as 70 people were killed in Friday's strike. There are fears this could further alienate Afghans from coalition forces.

 2. Fire crews in California say the blaze burning north of Los Angeles is about 50% contained. So far, the arson-caused blaze has claimed lives of two firefighters. It's scorched nearly 242 square miles.

 3. Two of the biggest anti-American world leaders have gone together for a two-day meeting. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez is in Iran where he was greeted by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Chavez is on a six-nation tour that includes stops in Russia and Syria.

 4. The ocean has just got a little more crowded. These baby turtles were hatched this week in the Florida Keys. And a camera there caught their first tentative steps as they waddled to the ocean.
