2.Thunderstorms unleashed floods, leaving at least eight people dead in the southeast with several feet of murky ground water covering parts of Georgia.

3.President Barack Obama tells a United Nations climate summit the US is determined to act against climate change, saying the country was slow to recognize the magnitude of the problem, but it's catching up.

4.In Honduras, deposed president Manuel Zelaya is holed up in a Brazilian embassy, saying he fears for his life. He popped up in his country after being forced from the land by gunpoint earlier.
