  LESSON 159
GETTING AWAY FROM OCTOPUS FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH AND DINNER
“I never used to mind the occasional bit of octopus, as you know, we had those wonderful dinners at Anemos in Charlotte Street in London, you remember? But here in Greece, they seem to be occupy every bit of the beach front, I get the impression, and the odor of the friend stuff is almost omnipresent. I can tell you offhand that I find that quite offensive. Now, my darling, tomorrow let’s hire a boat and have our lunch offshore, what do you think?”
“What about our offspring? The kids, I mean,” Robin enquired.
“Ah, they don’t care about us, anyway,” Laura replied in an offhand way. “It’s my olfactory sense that I’m worried about. I need an odorless lunch experience, I’ve made up my mind, and the odds of getting one onshore aren’t good at all, so let’s just get away!”
“That’s odd,” Robin mused. “I don’t mind the smell at all. But perhaps it has something to do with my occupation of working at the Billingsgate fish market. Still, it does occur to me there, there was an odd occurrence like the before, wasn’t there? When we were in Spain, a few years ago. We were the occupants of a beachfront hut, all alone, it was out of season. I had an ominous feeling that you might not like the experience, not least because of the fishy odor everywhere. I was right, but now we’ve made the same mistake again. Oh dear, what can we do! I wish I was omnipotent and able to whisk us all out of here to some tropical paradise that smells of nothing but honeydew!”
