1. The Army suspect in the Fort Hood killings has been charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder. Officials say Major Nidal Malik Hasan was read the charges at the hospital where he's recovering. Military officials say more charges could be on the way.

2. The Atlantic seaboard is getting drenched by the remnants of Tropical Storm Ida. Parts of North Carolina and Virginia are already in the water, and flood watches have been extended all the way north to Long Island, New York.

3. Charges have been filed against the parents in the "balloon boy" incident. Prosecutors in Colorado say the dad of the six-year-old boy was charged with attempting to influence a public servant, while the mom was charged with false reporting to authorities.

4. Byron Scott has become the first coaching casualty of the NBA season. He was let go as head coach of the New Orleans Hornets today as the team is off to a 3-6 start. He's Coach of the Year back in 2008.
