[1] Former Vice President Dick Cheney remains in the hospital after experienced chest pain yesterday. An aide to the 69-year-old says he is resting comfortably at George Washington University Hospital in Washington. Cheney has had a history of heart problems, including four heart attacks.

[2] Terrorism suspect Najibullah Zazi told a federal judge that he was trained by al-Qaeda for a martyrdom plan to attack the New York City subways. The 25-year-old pleaded guilty Monday to conspiracy to use weapons of mass destruction. Zazi faces a life prison sentence without parole.

[3] The president of Toyota's US operations, James Lentz, is scheduled to appear in front of the House Energy and Commerce Committee today. The session will focus on Toyota's recalls of millions of vehicles over defects involving floor mats, gas pedals and brakes. In an apology prepared for today's hearing, Lentz says Toyota took too long to confront the sudden acceleration problems.

[4] The Guinness World Records says an Arizona Great Dane is the tallest dog ever. Two-hundred-fifty-pound ‘Giant George’ stands three feet seven inches from paw to shoulder. The four-year-old dog is three quarters of an inch taller than his closest rival, Titan, a white Great Dane from San Diego.
