1.Flood waters are starting to finally recede in parts of the northeast,The hardest-hit state actually nicknamed the ocean state.Rhode Island has seen his worst flooding in 2 centuries.High water has forced evacuations and overwhelmed sewer systems.President Barack Obama has already declared most of Rhode Island a disaster area.

2.The activist convicted killing a abortion doctor Gorge Taylor will be sentenced today. Stott Roeder faces life in prison for the 1-degree murder conviction.The only thing is doubt during Thursday's hearing is when the 52-year-old will be eligible for parole.A judge will decide between 25 and 50 years.

3. The army officer acussed in the Fort Hood shooting rampage is apparently going to be moved from a hospital to a jail.Major Nidal Hassan,underwent a discharge physical Wednesday. Hassan is charged with 13 counts of murder and 32 counts of attempted murder.He was shot by civilian police during the rampage,leaving him paralyzed.

4.A new study shows small taxed on soda do little to reduce soft drink consumption to prevent childhood obesity.Despite the studies some researchers believed larger taxed would make a difference.Currently about 30 states have soda taxes.
