These are the lottery tickets a Chesterfield man bought Sunday morning, 120 in all, almost 30 of them were winners.

I thought maybe they were trying to push the new game, but I did think it was a bit odd.

The man who asked to remain anonymous thought he'd finally be able to pay off much of his debt.

I felt a whole lot of burden lifted off my shoulders. Actually, I thought, this is gonna be some, this is gonna be put to use and pay some bills and times are tight, I thought it was gonna be something incredible.

But when he scanned a ticket that should have been a big winner, the machine told him he could only collect two or three dollars.

How were you feeling?

A whole lot of loss actually, you know, as like, a lot of money just, you know which I should have had in my hand had been taken away from me.

Just to see what would happen, the man brought what he thought was a winning ticket to the lottery office in downtown Richmond. With six sevens, he should have won 277 dollars. They only offered him seven.

We are looking at the situation. We are figuring out what happened. We are talking with the vendor who runs the game. We are talking to the Attorney General's Office to see what we can legally do.

Right now, though, lottery officials are asking winners to hang on to their tickets and to be patient.
