They may not look like much, but these are the largest dinosaur foot prints known to man. As six feet wide they are believed to have been left by the sauropod, left for us to see a hundred and fifty million years after they walked the earth.

Scientists who enter the village of Plagne in France say the discovery can not be underestimated.

(Patrice Landry:) It's exciting because not just fossils, it's also traces of life. And as you can see this pathway, you can see dinosaurs walking on this beach, feet sinking in this sludge, making these ripples.

Plagne on the France-Swiss border is a region known for its Jurassic discoveries, for residents herd has put where they live on the map.

This woman says it's liven things up a bit.

It's great, says this man, I am really impressed.

A particularly beautiful foot print, a palm, and then a finger, another finger, here a scratch, and then in front of the foot, the ripple.

This isn't a find that's captured just the French press. Scientists around the world said they'll now help us learn more about a bygone era.
