There was a lot of hype and excitement as South Africa marked a 100 days to kick off. All the local organizers are saying the country may not be ready right now to host the FIFA World Cup, but come the 11th of June, everything will be ready.

And FIFA president Sepp Blatter was here in Durban at the Moses Mabhida stadium where the main celebrations took place. And of course for him it was a dream come true because he has long been campaigning for an African World Cup.

He said that critics should just support South Africa as the first African country to host this much anticipated tournament and that Africa has given a lot to the world and that's what Africa deserves, a lot of support from the world.

But of course there are still a few things that need ironing out to the venue for the opening and closing games of the tournament is still not ready yet; that soccer city in Johannesburg, and there's also another world cup stadium that does not yet have a pitch. But FIFA has said, you know this can be compared to a cake that does not have cherries, that at the moment South Africa may not be ready but it will be come kick off.
