是谁有本事将Red Hot Chili² Pepper (呛辣红椒)新单曲「Can't Stop」一脚踢开，登上全美现代摇滚榜蝉连数周冠军宝座，而将全球最"ㄏㄤ"的新生代摇滚乐团Linkin Park (联合公园)，首波强势单曲「Somewhere I Belong」阻挡在亚军位置而迟迟无法晋升呢？是谁凭着各传媒及乐迷好评推荐，在发片才三个礼拜就迅速冲入全美Billboard³专辑榜前五强之列中呢？是谁在「Daredevil (夜魔侠)」电影原声带当中，以一组名不见经传新团之姿，却造成全美超高点播及询问度最高的乐团呢」这些疑问的答案都只有一个，也就是全球摇滚迷绝对要锁定的优质新贵「Evanescence 伊凡塞斯」！

「Evanescence 伊凡塞斯」由年仅二十岁的主唱Amy Lee、主奏吉它手Ben Moody、第二吉它手John LeCompt及鼓手Rocky Gray等四位，来自美国阿肯萨斯州的年轻人所组成！早在青少年时期，团中词曲创作及灵魂人物Ben Moody於一次偶然的机会中，听到Amy以钢琴自弹自唱翻玩Meat Loaf (肉块)的「I'd Do Anything For Love」，当场被她收放自若、强烈多变的声音表情深深吸引，经由Ben的游说下，Ben与Amy两人开始共同创作，结合Bjork．Tori Amos的音乐特质，自己出资推出了一张EP，其中一首长达七分钟歌德式的单曲「Understanding」，深受当地电台DJ的喜爱，争相主动播放此曲，虽然此曲受到非常大的回响，但却没人知道他们是何许人也，也不知何处能联络到他们，因为当时只有Ben与Amy二个人，没办法完成一场完整的现场表演，更没钱请乐手来帮忙演出，但是「天公疼憨人」，他们的才华仍被Wind Up厂牌(Creed、Seether、Drowning Pool)找到签入旗下，发行美梦成真的首张大碟「Fallen 落入凡间」！

最后尘埃落定以四人型态整装出击，到了洛杉矶与曾是90年代金属名团Ugly Kid Joe之成员Dave Fortmen，共通完成此张专辑「Fallen 落入凡间」！曲风虽以探讨黑暗面、一些阴冷、哥德式摇滚、并结合重击猛拍的摇滚调性，但却呈献较正面的意识型态，并加入音乐精灵Tori Amos、才女唱将Sarah McLachlan等人率直极具感染力的音韵！阵阵急促吉他音墙伴随电子声响，时而冷酷点缀，时而猛力激昂，瞬间敲开「Going Under」的正点悸动！
