Leaders of Japan and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations are gathering¹ for a summit in Tokyo. Japan's Kyodo News says Japan hopes to rally ASEAN support to rein² in China's strong stance on the airspace. 

For more analysis, we are joined in the studio by Jia Xiudong, a Senior Research Fellow at the China Institute of International Studies.

Q1: First, can you tell us the real purpose the Japanese government is having such a summit with ASEAN countries?

Q2: Japan has decided³ to announce a new secrecy⁴ law on Friday, the same day of the 76th anniversary of the Nanjing massacre⁵. Along with the new National Defense⁶ Program Outline, what challenges will that pose to China? Can you tell us more on that?
