The Iraqi Province of Anbar is now mostly controlled by Islamic State, after the militant¹ group seized the key city of Ramadi last month. The Iraqi government has vowed² to liberate³ the province, and according to the defense⁴ ministry⁵, thousands of its troops have been mobilized to surround the area. 

 

After heavy clashes between the Iraqi forces and the extremists of IS, the Islamic state affiliates⁶ have imposed their control on the city of Ramadi the center of the province of Anbar in October, sending more enforcements and deploying⁷ more troops on the suburbs of Anbar Province as a preparation to liberate the area.
