Some high profile foreign investments in the United States are drawing attention to the enormously wealthy entities behind the deals. Of particular concern are sovereign wealth funds -- pools of state-owned investments that have used their vast reserves to invest in big name American corporations. The infusions of capital have provided a much-needed boost to the recipient companies and the U.S. economy as a whole, but there is concern about the potential implications.
