Republican officials say Idaho Senator Larry Craig will resign from the Senate because of the controversy¹ over his arrest and guilty plea in a men's room sex sting. Craig is expected to make his official announcement Saturday during a press conference in Boise.

Police in Lansing, Michigan say a paroled sex offender² is suspected of killing³ five women there in a little more than a month and they say he could face charges in a sixth death from 2004. Matthew Macon was paroled from state prison in late June.

The disgraced prosecutor⁴ who falsely accused 3 Duke University lacrosse players of rape⁵ is looking at a little jail time. Mike Nifong has been sentenced to one day in jail after being held in criminal contempt for lying to the court.
