美国俚语:Brown Nosing 什么意思?

和几个美国朋友去Courtney家做客开Party，一进门Vincent就对著Courtney大喊大叫说："你今天可真漂亮"，我瞧了一眼Courtney，见她只不过穿了一件白T恤衫配牛仔短裤，哪里值得他这样大惊小怪。Courtney见我不解的样子就说："He's brown1 nosing2"。
我看看Vincent，见他脸鼻子倒是都晒得红红的，就回说："你说他晒得太过头了，是吗？"於是轮到Courtney莫名其妙。
原来brown nosing是阿谀奉承的意思，尤其用於下对上，相当於俗语中的"拍马屁"，"马屁精"之意。下次如果见到有人对上司拍马屁，就可以说"He's brown nosing"！
