　　Hard-nosed是固执的意思，不灵活。

　　3. He would never give us any slack¹.

　　Slack是松懈的意思，在这里指老板从不给轻省的任务来做。

　　4. Our boss does everything by the book.

　　教条主义的老板，不与时俱进。

　　5. The biggest problem is that she doesn’t allow creative thinking.

　　很多人工作时最大的痛苦就是不能做创意性的工作，首先就是因为老板经常把创意等同于破坏传统和规矩。
