环保的“电子鞭炮”

　　"Traditional firecrackers with suffocating¹ smoke would worsen the already poor air quality. E-firecrackers, with similar costs, emit no pollution and can be reused in the future," said 62-year-old Xu Xuehua, a volunteer.

　　62岁的志愿者许雪华（音）说：“传统的鞭炮会产生呛人的浓烟，这会让本就糟糕的空气质量变得更差。电子鞭炮的价格和传统鞭炮差不多，但不排放污染物，以后还能循环使用。”

　　重度污染天气催火了air purifier（空气净化器），也催火了e-firecracker（电子鞭炮）。为了抗击雾霾，人们采用电子鞭炮和festive² music（节日音乐）等形式来add to the festival atmosphere（增加年味）。

　　许多城市的政府部门都呼吁市民cut firework consumption（减少烟花爆竹燃放），气象部门在春节期间还发布了firecracker advisory³ index（烟花爆竹燃放指数）。

　　佛教信徒去寺庙朝拜时都会offer incense⁴ to gods and goddesses（向神灵敬香）和burn incense（烧香），今年春节北京雍和宫向香客免费提供environmentally friendly incense（环保香），同时禁止香客带入自己购买的香。
