“出场费”怎么说

随着在“美国小姐”比赛中夺冠，百老汇明日之星劳伦·尼尔森今后参加活动的出场费也将水涨船高。据报道，刚刚评选出的“美国小姐”劳伦·尼尔森除了将获得5万美元奖学金外，预计将在2007年获得超过10万美元的出场费。

Nelson, 20, of Lawton, Okla., is a student at the University of Central Oklahoma and wants to get her master's degree in musical theater. She gets a $50,000 scholarship with the crown and stands to make thousands more in appearance fees.

“appearance fee”指的就是“出场费”。“Appearance”表示“出场、露面”时，常和动词make搭配，如：to make one's first appearance in public（首次公开露面）。

此外，“appearance”也可表示“体面、门面”，如：for appearances' sake（为了保持体面）、to keep up appearances（保持体面）。

看个例子：He earned enormous sums of money and got an appearance fee of ￡100 for a single appearance. （他挣了很多钱，一次出场费就高达100英镑。）
