[00:24.88]The film All Quiet On the Western Front
[00:27.89]was made in 1930 with what was

[00:35.66]by Erich Maria Remarque and was the first
[00:38.23]ever anti-war film in the era of sound.

[00:45.92]and the film reflects the anti-war mood
[00:48.17]of many young people in this period.
[00:50.69]The movie was successful commercially
[00:52.68]and it won Oscars in Hollywood
[00:54.53]for Best Film and Best Director.
[00:57.18]It still remains one of the few early
[00:59.01]sounds films watched by modern audiences.
