山东版《初中英语》以任务型语言教学为编写理念，以“合理引进国外语言教育理念，适应山东省英语教育实际状况”为宗旨，力图把基于生活任务的语言教学模式引入到我国的英语教学领域中来。本套教材的基本编写思路是：以话题为主线，采用任务型语言教学模式，兼顾交际功能和语言知识结构的学习，以一种循序渐进的生活化的学习程序，引导学生学会运用英语有目的地做事情。
