Tell you about a nursing mom turn to facebook to support after she claims employees at Houston area Target store embarrassed her when she was breast feeding in public. So she invited other nursing mothers to join it today as a show support for breast feeding in public. These are pictures from that Texas Target where handful support has turned out and you can see clearly with a baby in tow1, which high commend2 the mom who rally3 in this forces join us on the phone from Houston. Michel thanks for joining us, first all, tell us what happen to you?

Basically, I was just a nursing my five-month-old in the target store when I was in a shopping for Christmas stuff on Nov. 29th, and I sat on the Target floor and had a couple Target employees that I actually spoke4 with and had conversations with. They never regarding to my law and they requested me to move to the fitting5 room. Even after, you know, telling them all at my law word you know my legal rights words to not have to move, they do you know kept on this … I kept asking them what Target policy was ,what they were trained to do. They said it was to, you know, direct to the nursing area I guess an official nursing area will be in the feeding room in the store. And then, you know, there were another handful of women that they are all women employees, you know had have you around the area, shaking their head note, making rude faces, you know, marks and ..me. Then in the next morning, I called the corporate6 office of Target and talked to a guest relation specialist there and was told that even though Target is aware of our legal rights in nursing in public or whatever we rights to be in the public or private places in the state of Texas. That women shouldn’t be doing it and walking around the store fronting it. However, I was sitting down in the store in a remote area not a single person came by that was a customer. I was completely covered with a large blanket. So I don’t see how they find that it’s offensive7 and to that shame to get those type of comments from you would think a better trained cooperate level guest relation specialist.

So, Michel, let me ask you this. Target offered you a changing room to go in to breast feed your baby but you said you prefer to do it where you were sitting on the floor there. Is it you thought you will be hidden away that way which they hide you away that way you didn’t want to see in the dressing8 room?

This is my fourth child. I have gone at the request of people before I was with other children before to a dressing room because this is the first incident by far that I had. But the problem is that you have a cart full of things and when I came out my cart was gone and few wants to re-shop another hour after you just finished an hour shopping getting a cart full of stuff when I have kids…. You know that’s not exactly the fun thing to do so after that happened to me.., just I can have, just I did, I don’t care. They requested me to go to a feeding room. I m not like to go to a feeding room and nurse my baby and then have to re shop everything all over again. I just choose not to do it.

So let me read you the statement that we got from Target. I’m gonna read part of it. Then we get your response.

They say as a family-oriented retailer9, Target has a long-standing cooperate policy that supports breast feeding in our stores. We want everyone feel comfortable shopping in Target. Guests who choose to breast feeding in public area in the store are welcome to do so without being made to feel uncomfortable. Additionally, we support the use of the fitting rooms for women who wish to breast feed their baby even if others are waiting to use the fitting rooms. We continually educate our team members in stores across the country on store police to ensure all guests have a great experience. So hearing that, how is your response? What’s your reaction?

That’s the response that I have gotten from Target as well. That was my official response from them, which, you know, everybody is telling me that’s so not an apology that’s just basically a re littering something there breasting feeding policy and standards. I welcome that that’s cool that Target has that thing but the problem none of employees know of it. All the employees that have … of it. They never got any training. And I actually
