2019年CRI China-Australia ties: where to from here?

 

Australia is increasingly being caught in the middle of political plays as the trade tug-of-war ramps¹ up between China and the US. The country is now faced with the task of potentially needing to choose a side, as its friendship with the US and economic dependence² on China is tested. So where does Australia stand on a global level with the re-election of its Coalition³ government, and will it regret banning Huawei from supplying its 5G networks?

James Laurenceson, Acting⁴ Director at the Australia-China Relations Institute at the University of Technology Sydney spoke⁵ with China Plus contributor Debby Ng (NING) for more.
