 　　Pants¹ are what you put on your legs. 裤子是穿在腿上的。

　　You can have different kinds of pants. 你可以有不同种类的裤子。

　　Jeans is a type² of pants. 牛仔裤就是裤子的一种。

　　We might³ say dress pants for nice pants that you would⁴ wear to work. 我们会说穿着好看的西装裤去上班。

　　I also have ties. 我还有领带。

　　A tie, "tie," is a long, thin thing that goes around your neck that men usually wear—often wear to work, 领带（tie）是又长又薄，系在脖子上的饰物，一般男人会穿戴——经常在工作中穿戴，

　　and it comes in different colors, and that's your tie. 它有各种颜色，那就是领带。

　　A sweater, "sweater," is something that keeps you warm. 毛衣（sweater），是能让你保暖的衣物。

　　It's like a shirt that's very thick. 它就像衬衫，但非常厚。

　　You usually put a sweater over your shirt so that you can be warm. 你一般把毛衣套在衬衫外面，这样可以保暖。

　　Suit⁵ jackets, "suit jackets," (two words) are jackets that you wear that are for a formal⁶ occasion⁷. 西装外套（suit jackets），（两个字）是你在正式场合中穿的夹克。

　　So, if you are going⁸ to work, especially⁹ if you were going to an interview¹⁰, you would wear a suit jacket. 因此，如果你要去工作，尤其是你要去面试，你会穿上西装外套。

　　The word suit, "suit," refers¹¹ to a formal set¹² of clothing¹³ for, in this case, a man. 西装（suit）这个字，在这里是指男士穿的一套正式服装。

1 pants

参考例句：

• The letter is written in a formal style.这封信是用正式文体写的。
• Today's trend is toward less formal clothing.眼下时尚趋向于穿着随便。

7 occasion   

n.场合，时机，机会，诱因，理由；vt.惹起，引起

参考例句：

• Her dress was too showy for such a formal occasion.在如此正式的场合，她的服装过分华丽了。

8 going

11 refers   

v.提到( refer的第三人称单数 )；针对；关系到；请教

参考例句：

12 set   

n.组合，集合，设定；一套，一副，一局比赛；v.放置，设定；(太阳)落下去

参考例句：

• He set to with a will and soon finished it.他下定决心做这件事，很快就完成了。
• The bus set the children down just outside the school gate.公共汽车让孩子们正好在学校门口下车。

13 clothing   

n.(总称)衣服

参考例句：

• John sells clothing in a store.约翰在商店里卖服装。
• We never lack food and clothing if we're willing to work.如果我们愿意工作，就不会缺吃少穿。
