Lynette: So what did the doctor say?

Tom: You're gonna wanna sit down.

Lynette: Tom,you are scaring me. What is it?

Tom: I have postpartum depression.

Lynette: Come again?

Tom:I know it sounds weird,b- But it's-it's-it's a recognized problem for fathers my age. I've got all the classic symptoms-headaches,mood swings, fatigue¹.

Lynette: Tell me,did he check you for a yeast² infection while he was down there, too?

Tom: Why don't you learn the facts before you make fun of it?

Lynette: "Men and postpartum:The bitter seed." Yeah,I'm... not buying it. Show me one stretch mark,one chapped nipple, and we'll talk about your postpartum.

Tom: It's a legitimate³ medical condition. And you're the one who told me to go to the doctor.

Lynette: So you could be of some use around here, not so you could,uh...oh,"take long baths or get in some extra naps"?

Tom: Do me a favor. Read the whole pamphlet.

Lynette: Gosh,I wish I could,tom. Unfortunately,I have to go take care of my other baby.

丽奈特：医生怎么说？

汤姆：你先坐下吧。

丽奈特：汤姆，你吓到我了，到底怎么了？

汤姆：我得了产后抑郁。

丽奈特：你说什么？

汤姆：我知道这很奇怪，但是...我这么大岁数的父亲，确实会有这病。我有典型的症状：头痛、情绪不稳定、疲劳。

丽奈特：告诉我，医生是否也给你检查宫颈感染了？

汤姆：你开玩笑前，能不能先搞清楚事实？

丽奈特：“男人与产后抑郁，痛苦的种子”，好吧，我才不信咧！你有没妊娠纹，有没乳头裂伤？有的话，再来谈你的产后抑郁。

汤姆：这是很正常的一种病症，而且是你要我去看医生的呀！

丽奈特：我是为了让你能帮帮家里，不是为了让你..."泡个澡 多打会盹"。

汤姆：拜托，先都读完。

丽奈特：我也想读完，汤姆，但很不幸，我还得去照顾另一个孩子。

1 fatigue   

n.疲劳，劳累

2 yeast
