Lesson 67 Sue’s diary¹: Give him a carrot!
Grandfather and I
watched farmer Gimble
and the policeman.
“We can’t move this donkey²!”
the policeman shouted.
“What can we do?” farmer Gimble asked.
“Give him a carrot!”
granfather cried.
“That’s a good idea,”
farmer Gimble said³.
“Here!” farmer Gimble called.
The donkey noticed⁴ the carrot
and jumped up.
He followed farmer Gimble
across⁵ the road
and that was⁶ the end
of the traffic-jam!
