1.All 47 crew members of a Seattle-based fishing boat have abandoned ship. That's after the vessel¹ started sinking about 120 miles off the Alaska coast. The coast guard says, so far, more than half the crew have been safely recovered from life rafts.

2.New photos of the Minneapolis Bridge before it collapsed² last summer show warped³ connector plates. There were visible bends in steel plates that held parts of the bridge together as early as four years before the accident. The photos are part of a report issued by the National Transportation Safety Board.

4.A Honolulu man tried to cheer up his sick grandfather by bringing a stallion to visit. Trouble is, his granddad, was in the hospital. A hospital spokeswoman says the man and the horse managed to take an elevator up to the third floor before they were stopped by security.
