This is AP News Minute. 1. As climate talks ramp¹ up in Paris, president Obama says he’s confident the world will be able to hammer out a major deal on climate change. Obama said Tuesday that parts of the agreement between nations should be legally binding². 2. Defense³ Secretary Ash Carter announcing a new strategy to combat the Islamic State group. Carter said a new special operations force will be sent to fight militants⁴ in Iraq and Syria. Meanwhile, the military will work on strengthening partnerships⁵ with local forces. 3. Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel has fired the city’s police chief as the city deals with one of its officers being charged with murder. Emanuel cited a lack of public trust in the department. Officer Jason Van Dyke⁶ is facing murder charges for shooting 17-year-old Laquan McDonald last October. 4. And a 10-dollar flea⁷ market find could turn this man into a millionaire. Frank Adams found this rare photo of notorious gunman Billy the Kid posing with the sheriff who killed him in 1881. The last photo of Billy sold at auction⁸ for 5 million dollars.
