1. Central Italy was hit by another powerful earthquake on Sunday, toppling buildings but causing no immediate¹ loss of life. Close to Sunday's epicenter was the ancient city of Norcia, the birth place of Saint Benedict and famed for its Benedictine monastery².

2. A Russian Soyuz based capsule has landed in Kazakhstan, bringing three astronauts from the U.S, Japan and Russia back to earth from a 115 days mission aboard the international space station. Three astronauts remained aboard the space station.

3. The first church service was held in a recently liberated³ Iraqi town of Qaraqosh. The town as retaken by Iraqi force in this week as part of the ongoing⁴ operation to retake Mosul. Islamic State fighters continue to resist on the town's outskirt.

4. And the Chicago cubs⁵ are on the brink⁶ of elimination⁷ in their first World Series in 71 years, while the Cleveland Indians could be poised⁸ to win their first one since 1948. Those are the stakes today at Wrigley Field for Game 5 as Cleveland holds a three games to one lead.
