Senate republicans are making major changes to their proposed tax reform plan. One idea is to roll back some tax cuts after six years, to keep a handle on the budget deficit¹.

A Mexican national has been found not guilty of shooting and killing² a woman on a San Francisco pier³ two years ago.

An inferno⁷ in downtown Cohoes, New York destroyed or damaged nearly two dozen buildings. A man is charged with arson⁸ and reckless endangerment. Authorities say that he started the fire trying to forge metal after watching a TV show about it.
