Cedrick: Audrey, you ready for our certificate test on Friday? It's crunch¹ time, and I don't know about you, but I'll be pulling an all-nighter at Jittery³ Joe's tonight. Do you want to put our heads together and pool notes?

Audrey: Nah, I've got it under control, thanks. I loaded my phone with everything yesterday and am betting he won't even notice with his bad eyesight.

It's not like I haven't studied, but it's just a little insurance since I've heard this test is pretty impossible and I've got to get that promotion⁴.

Cedrick: I'm sure you don't need me to lecture you, but cheating is only hurting yourself. If you get caught, you'll miss your chance for promotion, naturally, and I'm sure there're some other repercussions⁵ to worry about.

Audrey: Well, it's worth the risk to me. I'm going to do just well enough not to arouse his suspicions.

Cedrick: Well, don't say I didn't warn you if you get caught. He's not as dumb as he looks. I'm sure you're not the first person to try to pull a fast one on him.

1 crunch
