The biggest party in Brazil's governing coalition¹ has pulled out of president Dilma Rousseff's administration, making it more likely that she will face impeachment². The move by the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party, or PMDB, gives her opponents a great majority in the congressional committee driving the process. Leonardo Picciani is the deputy leader of the PMDB Party in the lower house of parliament. He says business has lost confidence in the president. The US Supreme¹⁶ Court have declined to overturn a law that allows public sector¹⁸ unions in California to collect fees from non-members. Around half of US states allow public sect¹⁷ unions to collect so-called agency fees from non-union members to fund activities such as collective bargaining.
