  In Shanghai, the annual Lujiazui Financial Forum, held by China’s top financial regulators, kicks off Thursday. The forum serves as a barometer for China’s financial market, and top policy makers are gathering to discuss the country’s ongoing reforms.

  This year’s theme is financial reform and market open-up. The agenda ranges from financial innovations, capital account opening, freer interest rates, of course, the current liquidity squeeze. On Friday, the first day session for the forum, Chinese central bank governor Zhou Xiaochuan will deliver a speech about view on the economy.

  The vice chairman of China’s top securities market regulator, Zhuang Xin, will also speak at the event. On Saturday, the chairman of China’s banking watchdog, Shang Fulin, and the chairman of China’s insurance regulatory arm, Xiang Junbo, will give their speeches.
