　　In Shanghai, the annual Lujiazui Financial Forum¹, held by China’s top financial regulators, kicks off Thursday. The forum serves as a barometer² for China’s financial market, and top policy makers³ are gathering⁴ to discuss the country’s ongoing⁵ reforms.

　　This year’s theme is financial reform and market open-up. The agenda ranges from financial innovations, capital account opening, freer interest rates, of course, the current liquidity⁶ squeeze. On Friday, the first day session for the forum, Chinese central bank governor Zhou Xiaochuan will deliver a speech about view on the economy.

　　The vice⁷ chairman of China’s top securities market regulator, Zhuang Xin, will also speak at the event. On Saturday, the chairman of China’s banking⁸ watchdog, Shang Fulin, and the chairman of China’s insurance regulatory arm, Xiang Junbo, will give their speeches.
