Ukraine's Defence Ministry says its troops detained two members of an armed insurgent group on Wednesday. The Ministry claims they were engaged in intelligence gathering near Ukraine army checkpoints in the Donetsk region. Pictures supplied by the Defence Ministry showed a variety of weapons said to have been taken from the two men. The Ministry said both men have confessed to being agents of Russian intelligence organisations.
According to a spokesman for the Defence Ministry, the two men are members of an illegal armed unit and were caught near checkpoints of the army’s anti-terrorist units.
