 The repeal of the carbon tax is expected to have a positive impact on inflation. Official figures out today are predicted to show a sharp fall in the Consumer Price Index. 

 
Now world economists are predicting a slight rise in the September quarter. They expect the annual rate will drop to 2.3%. 
 
Foreign companies are angry about moves by Telstra to increase what it can charge for access to its network. 
 
Optus' 4G network warned consumers will pay more if Telstra's latter increase wholesale routs right to finalize by just over 7%. Our consumer affairs reporter Amy B. just explains.

Checking commodity prices now: 
 
West Texas Crude is trading at 83 US dollars a barrel. Tapis Crude 88 US dollars a barrel. Gold is at 1,250 US dollars an ounce. And the Australian Dollar is buying 88 US cents, 69 Euro cents or 54 Pence Sterling.
